I believe that individuals hold the key to healing within themselves and my mission is to walk alongside you as you unlock your inner strengths. I specialize in helping individuals heal and integrate traumatic experiences and in helping couples build a secure bond. I am currently working on certifications in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) and in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). In addition, I also have training in Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
Thank you for being here. I work with individuals, couples, and families. My approach utilizes a culturally sensitive attachment lens and incorporates self-compassion and mindfulness to navigate the journey towards life balance and calm. Growing up with my own experiences of marginalization, my heart strives to provide comprehensive treatment which is culturally sensitive and inclusive of LGBTQI+ affirming practices. My goal is to provide clients with a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere in which they can feel safe and seen. With couples, it is important that each individual feels supported and not targeted as "the problem". I foster unity and an understanding of the patterns that keep couples feeling stuck. Couples can then move out of those patterns and closer to one another.
I am certified in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), and have advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I enjoy working with the ADHD community and am personally touched by the experience of neurodiversity in blended families/relationships. I am a certified ADHD clinical services provider.
Tailoring treatment unique to my clients enables me to walk alongside them on their journey to authenticity and deepen their sense of security in the world around them.
Personal Background
I am grateful to share my life with a wonderful husband. Together we have a blended bi-racial family with children in different life stages. We also live with two rescue pups with very different personalities. Navigating the journey toward “blending” has has been challenging at times, but it has also helped me know and trust the gifts and growth that challenge can bring, especially when one has needed support. I often can lean on my own life experiences when coming alongside my clients. I strive to remain real with my clients so that I can promote their experience of safety and acceptance.
Educational Background
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#123227). I earned my Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from COAMFTE-accredited California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University. I received my Bachelors degree in vocal performance from California State University Sacramento.
Interests and Hobbies
I maintain a heart for both piano playing and singing and feel arts continue to play an important role in my self-care.
I have a background in fitness and taught group fitness for years. I believe goals are our anchors during times of crisis. One of my biggest passions is running marathons. I am usually in my happy place while in the midst of planning my next race.
